Motorcycle Repair: dyna wide glide - change out front end, triple trees, assemblys

Question
Hello Mike - I'd like to change out my stock '94 fxdwg front end to a fat forked 16" front end - where can i find a list of what will be necessary to do this? can the forks and trees remain as is and an aftermarket cover package be installed for that part of the conversion? how about the caliper and rotor? will they need to be changed? bottom line, i'd like to do this as cheap as possible.

Answer
First I would like to apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I had family emergency and had to leave town quickly and forgot to put myself on vacation.
Now to your question, what you are wanting to do is basicly go to a fatboy style front end. Your forks are not going to work as well as the triple trees, since the larger front end is 39 mm. There are aftermarket assemblys that you can buy, but you are buying a whole front end. Check with a shop that sells V-Twin products and they have the conversion that you are looking for.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
