Motorcycle Repair: Running Hot, fan motor, coolant

1984 honda v-65 magna.This bike tends to run hot in traffic or at a idle.The fan is not kicking in.Full of coolant and have checked the fuse.

Hi John.
 Have you checked the fan motor and the thermosensor?  The thermosensor will tell the fan that it needs to come on when the bike heats up.  If it has failed, then the fan will not come on because the thermosensor is not reading the temp.  Also if the fan motor has burned out, then it will not go at all, no matter what you do.

And last of all, check the thermostat.  If that has failed then the coolant will not run through the radiator and the fan will not come on since the coolant won't be flowing.
