Motorcycle Repair: Front Handle Bar Alignment?, steering yoke, handle bar

Question
Hi Mike-- I hope you can help me before I run back to my dealer.  I have a 2003 Harley Ultra Classic.  This past week I took an over the road ride and while riding along the freeway noticed that my front handle bar and fairing were cocked/pointed slightly to the right (maybe about 1/2-1 inch), yet, I was traveling in a straight line. When I leaned forward and looked down over the front of my gas tank I could see that this was in fact the case. Could it be that the steering yoke or some other part of the mechanism was installed or set up slightly off center?  Is this a do-it your self-fix or should the dealer handle?  Thanks...

Answer
You might have a twist in the forks whaich would cause the problem you are talking about. Usually though you have to hit somthing or the bolts come loose to have this happen.
The problem you are going to run into is since you have a dresser, you are going to have to remove alot of things just to get to the pinch bolts and the tuiple trees. Unless you have some knowledge of working on the front end of your bike i would suggest leaving it to a dealer to repair.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
