Motorcycle Repair: GSF1200S IGNITION LIMITER, suzuki bandit, banditalley

G'day Mark,
          a friend of mine has aquired a Japanese GS1200 Suzuki Bandit, '99 model, which has a speedo in kms per hour, and something that limits top speed to 180ks, which works in fourth and fifth gears. Obviously built into the ignition as a limiter of speed. Can't find a second hand unit, so is there a wire that can be cut to get around this problem. Appreciate your help
