Motorcycle Repair: trouble shooting, trouble shooting, falcon

I have a 94 yamaha zr 250.  It will start with the choke on; however, shuts off immediately when I push in the choke.  The bike will not run at idle, meaning it will run only if I am on the throttle.  How do I adjust the Carb.?

Hi Ben.
 You are most likely looking at nothing more than adjusting the idle screw.  It is a small gnurled knob down on the carb.  It should be relatively easy to see.  It will be sticking either out or down from near where the cable attatches to the carb itself.
