Land Rover Repair: rear airshocks, t4 system, air pressure

Question
1999 landrover disc 11, how do you release the air pressure from the shocks in rear. to replace them

Answer
In our shop, we use the Land Rover T4 system to deactivate the suspension before repair.  In the field, all you can do it take the line loose from the spring and let the air escape.  It's not at very high pressure; nothing harmful.

I am not sure if the system will pump up after replacement.  We often need to re-initialize the computer with the T4 to get it to work following repair.

So be prepared for the possibility that it won't work until reset.
