Motorcycle Repair: carbarator installation, suzuki gs450, vent hoses

Question
I have a Suzuki GS450 that I got as a basket case.
I have gotten as far as carburator installation and now I'm stuck. the carb has one large hose that goes to the gas tank, but also has two smaller hoses (duel carbs) that I do not know the function for. where do they go?

Answer
Hi Jim,

What year is the motorcycle? Visit "www.bikebandit.com" click "OEM Parts" and select your MC from the menus. Clcik "Carburetor" and see the parts.

The carbs may have float bowl drain hoses (carb bottom side), a vacuum hose from one carb to the gas tank petcock carb(top side), and two vent hoses (carb top side). Tuck drain hoses to ground, route them behind swingarm axle. Vent hoses can arc back towards airbox or just "hang" where they fall. Vacuum hose gets connected to the smaller nipple on petcock.
