Motorcycle Repair: OVERHEATING, honda cbr 600, coolant level

I OWN A HONDA CBR 600 F2SS.

MY QUESTION IS WHEN IM RIDING CONTINUOUS MY BIKE STAYS COOL, BUT AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS(3)AND WHEN IM AT STOP AND GO MY BIKE SHUTS OFF AND THE TEMPATURE IS SKY ROCKET HOT BUT AFTER IT SITS FOR 10 MINUTES ITS RIDABLE AGAIN. ANY INFO WOULD BE GRATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS MIGUEL.

Hi Miguel.
 Check your coolant level.  If it is low, then you need to refill the system.

There is also the possibility of one or more of the following;

1)  Bad thermostat.

2)  Clogged coolant system.

3)  Bad water pump.

The repair manual has the troubleshooting and test proceedures to determine where the problem really lies.
