I only have bright headlight and need to know how to replace it. I have a '81 or '82 Silverwing, Honda 500 GL.

Hi Sherry.
 Changing the bulb on the GL is not that difficult.  It is the same fairing as the Goldwing of that year.

You will need 2 tools.  An allen wrench and either an open or box end wrench.  Loosen the lockdown screw on the headlight height adjustment knob.  Remove the knob and remove the lockdown nut.  Push the adjuster shaft foreward and the light assembly will slip out, giving you acess to the bulb.

Just reverse for reassembly.  This is possibly the easiest and simplest repair access that Honda has ever devised for any of the GL series bikes.
