Motorcycle Repair: rear wheel locked, zx6e, caliper

Question
hi, i have a 94 ninja zx6e. when i transported my bike on a carrier it fell on its side. nothing was damaged except the mirror. it just layed down slowly in the trailer. when i went to remove it the rear wheel was locked. the caliper frozen. so i use a c clamp and opened the caliper and the rotor is now free. when i try to move the bike it's still locked. is there something i can check for? when i try to accelerate the bike shuts off. i can't even get it to move an inch without it shutting off. help please. thanks.

Answer
Hi Roscoe.
If it fell on the left side, then check to see if it's in gear.  It could have gotten nudged up into 2nd.  Also check the alignment of the axle.  See if the wheel is jammed up against some other, unmovable part of the bike.

As far as the bike shutting off, check your sidestand cut-off switch.  Perhaps that has begun to fail or got damaged in the fall-over.

Let me know how it goes.
Good luck.
