Motorcycle Repair: late 60s honda 90, green slime, compression stroke

Question
i cannot get my trail bike to start this year.  it has not ran for the last 2 years, but it ran great before that. it is getting, spark, and i am pretty sure it is getting gas.i am not sure about timing or point gap.  any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Warren, if you left gas in the carb or tank for 2 years it probably won't even ignite without a blow torch.... Well, not really, but the motor won't run on it anymore.

They are battery ignition, so be sure that the battery is fully charged before trying to light it off. Clean the points, in case there is some corrosion build up on them.
Gap is .012-.014" and they open on the F mark flywheel alignment. You may want to check the mechanical spark advancer, hidden behind the point plate, for correct advance/retard function.

Clean out the carb.. float bowl, idle and main jets. If it is full of green slime, you will have to have it dipped in cleaner and put in new gaskets/O-rings, etc.

Once you know you have everything ready to go, put in a new spark plug, as yours is probably fouled by now.

Valve adjustment is .002" cold on the compression stroke..
