Motorcycle Repair: plugs, yamaha virago 535, model bike

Question
I have a basic simple question. I have a 1987
yamaha virago 535 and am changing the plugs, whats the gap for this bike?

Thank you, Donna

Answer
Hi Donna.
It's good to see a lady rider out there doing her own wrenching.  The gap on every make/model bike is going to be a bit different one from the other, but range from 0.7mm to 0.9mm.  The average is about 0.8mm.

Get yourself the repair manual (it has ALL of the specs for maintainence as well as other things you need to know) for the future, but for now go with a 0.8mm gap and you should be fine.

Good luck.
