Motorcycle Repair: zzr600, kawasaki zzr600, transmission gears

Question
hi i own a kawasaki zzr600 96 model i know that the clutch is slipping very badly but i cannot find 5th and 6th gear but all other gears engage perfectly would the slipping clutch cause this or is it a gearbox problem please could you let me know what you think as my local motorcycle shop are well known for changing things on your bike which dont need changing thanx...

Answer
Hi Mitchell,

The slipping clutch would be a good cause. There may be additional problems with the transmission.

With the clutch removed, you can cycle through all the transmission gears and investigate further.
