Motorcycle Repair: 2003 Kawasaki Mean Streak, kawasaki mean streak, rear cylinder

Question
My 2003 Mean Streak has 20,000 miles on it and has been trouble free until today. Without any warning or symptoms the rear cylinder lost ignition spark. I rode it yesterday with no problems. Today I fired it up and the rear cylinder would not hit a lick. I pulled the plug wires to check for a spark and the rear has none. What do you think is wrong. An ignition coil or a coil pulse unit? What's the best way to diagnose the problem? Do these bikes have a problem with this condition? Thanks for the help

Answer
I wont you to check this first on the end of the plug wire is a Bakelite cap the thing that pushes onto the plug.Unscrew it off the wile (counter clockwise)an see it the wire is burned back in to the insolation. If the wire is burned back clip the insolation back so the wire is even with the insolation. Reinstall the cap and give it a try.If not get back to me   Jerry
