Question
2000 kawasaki nomad.  went on ride and bike started backfiring.  from front cylinder.  bike would then lug out and sudenly get power.  problem is getting worse.  basically unrideable.  would die on me rolling.   recently changed plugs.  rechecked gap.  it was good.  bike is fuel injection.  thought might be coil but dont know.   thank you

Answer
Hi Ray,

It could be a component of the ignition system becoming faulty or it may be a mapping problem. Electrical problems can be frustrating to diagnose. You have to perform a series of tests to see what's going on.

The fuel may be contaminated with water, a faulty sensor, fuel pressure problem, or other.

Consider buying the service manual and/or having a local tech verify the problem.
