Motorcycle Repair: Yamaha 750 Seca, ground connections, yamaha 750

Question
I have a 1981 750 Seca that will stop running while I am driving.  There is no warning.  It will always start after I stop and put it is neutral.  Sometimes I can start it will coasting.  The local Yamaha shop is no help.  The neutral switch has been disconnected and the side stand switch is missing the extension rod so the switch is always in the up position.  Any help would be great.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Lee,

I suspect a loose wiring connection, loose fuse, or loose battery terminal to be causing the problem. disconnect and then re-connect all multi-connectors. Use a bit of dielectric grease on all wiring connectors (displaces H2O). Check all chasis ground connections-they should be clean and tightly fastened.

Check these and advise.
