Question
how do I fix a honda trx 250 1994. The gas is stuck and when i hold in the clutch it is always revin loud. So do you know what could be the problem and how to fix it? Thank you for your time.and also my muffler broke off but that is fix already.

Answer
Juan, you have to check both the throttle cable(s), starting from the handlebars and go down to the carburetor to determine if the cable is kinked or corroded or broken inside, which causes high rpms all the time.

If the cable is okay, then the carburetor must be removed and checked for sticking or worn throttle slide. I would also look for any kind of intake manifold leaking.

The last thing that can make engines rev up is that the ignition timing could be staying fully advanced. This is probably all electronic, so there isn't anything you can do except change the components. You would have to use a timing light to watch the ignition timing at idle and at higher rpms.

I really don't work on these things, never owned one or ridden one, so suggest checking the WEB for other ATV speciality sites. Do a GOOGLE search on Honda TRX 250 and see what comes up.
