HOW BAD IS THE RIDE OF A HARDTAIL BIKE? I REALLY LIKE THE LOOK BUT DON'T WANT TO BE TORTURED RIDING IT. I DONT EXPECT TO BE RIDING A ELECTRA GLIDE, BUT DONT WANT TO HATE IT EITHER. THANKS.

To your question. Hardtails are ok as long as the bike is configured the way it was originally built... that is with a SPRING SEAT. The only problem is that handling can get a little squirly over bumpy roads.

If you are talking about chopper style, with no spring seat then be prepared for a lot of pain in your lower back. Every little bump can feel like an arrow going through your spine.
