Motorcycle Repair: hesitate, coolant hoses, vacuum hoses


Question
i just bought a wing 1500se,60,000 miles on it.did not sit at all over winter(so he says)
hesitate off the line slight hesitation when cruising
plugs ,air and fuel filter new.there are a bunch of air valves on this bike ? for carbs. before i pull carbs off to rebuild ? any other ideas ?

Hi Russell,

The hesitation will be due to contamination in fuel inside the float bowls.

These are difficult carbs to remove and install. There are numerous vacuum hoses, electrical connectors, cables, and other parts to contend with. Review the service manual before beginnig work on the carbs. Example: Two coolant hoses connect to the base of the carb body. Buy and use hose pliers for removal and instalation of these hoses.
