Motorcycle Repair: rear chain, z1r, sprocket

Question
Had a brain arterty explode 10 yrs ago. My Z1R D-1
has been stored in a poor shed and now I'm repairing it to sell. The chain seems to be seized up on the motor sprocket. If I take off that side cover will it expose the sprocket and chain, is there anything behind there in addition? Are their gaskets that I should get?
Thank for your time,

Answer
Gene,
Not too familiar with that model however, that side of the case's cover doesn't typically hold oil, it's dry.  Often times there is a secondary cover seperate from the main cover that just houses the drive sproket (typically no gasket on dry covers).  Either way, remove cover, whole or part, to expose chain, give chain slack and remove chain.  You may also remove the master link and pull it out while in neutral, spinning the sproket.  If the sproket is siezed even when in neutral and the clutch in, you have bigger problems.
