Motorcycle Repair: 1988 Kawasaki Ninja 600R, kawasaki ninja, kawaski ninja

Question
I had trouble with my bike not having power when I let out the clutch, it would die. No matter how much gas I gave it. I cleaned the carbs and it didn't help. I then put some K&N filters on all cards (clamp on) and put a dynojet stage 3 jet kit in. I got it back together and it does the same. It seems to idle good and runs good while in neutral. Sometimes if I ride the clutch I can get it going, but the rpm's don't go anywhere when I give it gas and it doesn't seem to run good. I originaly thought it was dirty carbs, but I don't know what the problem is now. Any advice would be great.

It is a 1988 Kawaski Ninja 600R

thanks
Carl

Answer
Hi Carl,

I'm not sure if the clutch needs adjusted or if the carbs need tuned (or both).

Send me an email. I'll return several files on clutch and carbs. My email addy is: mshively1@woh.rr.com

In the meantime, if you can give more details, I may be able to sort it out. History of repairs & maintenance. History of this problem. Did it just happen or has it been this way? Describe the color and appearance of the spark plugs. Remember what cylinder they were removed from: left to right 1-2-3-4.

Was the MC stored for the winter?

Respectfully,
Mark Shively
