Motorcycle Repair: Gear Shifter problem, honda vt1100, foot pegs

Question
Mark, Last night I took it upon myself to swap out my front foot pegs with Cobra floor boards on my 94 Honda VT1100.  That went OK.  However, when I put the gear shift lever back on it seems up too high and I can't change gears into 2nd (sometimes) 3rd and 4th are out of reach, nothing there.  Seems like there is only one way to put the gear shift lever back on so I don't know what the problem could be. Thanks for any guidance.

Answer
Hi Al,

Can the lever be mounted to allow the toe pad to be lower? or is the floorboard preventing relocation?

Try seeking assistance form websites dedicated to the VT1100 and check their forums. Others may have the exact fix for the problem. If necessary, I'll find them for you.
