Motorcycle Repair: performance options, carburated, eagle air

Question
I have a new 2004 Softail standard that's carburated. I went with the carburator after speaking with you a few months ago. Thanks by the way. So far I love it. I'm planning on adding some pipes and a sceamin eagle air cleaner kit shortly. What are some other things I could do myself to help performance? I'm somewhat mechanaical, but I can't tear my engine down or anything like that. I'd like to try to keep it to stuff that I don't have to take into the shop to have done, or at least if I did have to take it in, wouldn't cost a fortune to have done.
Appreciate the help.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Dave. My friend dont install any screaming beagle parts with out asking me first or you will be throwing your money in the trash. the air filter is o.k. but the pipes are JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!   install a set of White Brothers E Series 2 into 1 exhaust system. You will thank me for sure. this is a great start to wake up your baby    JOHNNY
