Motorcycle Repair: GEAR DRIVE TIMING, dregrees, bobby wood

I have just put in an S&S gear drive system and cams into my TC 88.My question is what degree of retard of timing works the best for the gear drive,as they have zero lash ? I have the 5 deg SE module on the bike now,it seems to work okay. I will change the module if you think another will work better for this application. Thanks J.D.

I use the bobby wood +4 degree key with all S&S gear drives I install. and I advance the cams 4 dregrees not retard them. you did not say what cams you installed or what model of bike you put them on?.I dont use any screaming beagle stuff on bikes I build, I remove that stuff and install parts that work. ride free friend     JOHNNY
