Hello Jhonny
I have a bike with an Evo 100CI Revteck engine, becouse I do most of the riding on street,(stop and go)the plugs keep getting fouled,it is fine dark grey color so I know it is not oil.I know this happens to big twins that spend some time at idle speed.the question is.
How can I tell if it is the heat range of the plug or too rich a mixture? and can it be corrected and how ?.
Thaks for your time.
TONY.

SOUND TO ME LIKE THE BIKE IS RUNNING RICH, WHAT JETS ARE IN THE CARB AND WHAT BRAND OF CARB DO YOU HAVE ON THE BIKE?
I USE ONLY NGK SPARK PLUGS AND WHAT PLUGS ARE YOU RUNNING.?
NEED THIS INFO

Hi Jhonny, this is the info you need.
160 Main jet,25 Slow,97 Needle.
Carb.is a Mikuni 42.
The spark plugs from factory are Autolite MP-4164.
I changed to Accel-UGroove for a fatter spark and runs a little cleaner, but I read that all the sharp corners on the U-Groove can get hot and lead to preignition is that true?.
I read about the Champion Premium Gold suposed to run colder than other plugs, can that help in any way?
You use NGK only, what do you know about the NGK-VX ? is it just for rice burners ?.
Thank you again,TONY.

Answer
hi Tony,
I use BPR7ES spark plugs on evos or DPR7ES plugs on twin cams. evo plugs ar 14mm and twin cam and sportster ar 10mm
the rev tech may have 10mm plugs?. you will have to look.
main jet to 155 and slow jet to 17.5 stock need 97 on forth clip from top. turn off some of the accel pump. JOHNNY
