Motorcycle Repair: Honda 1100 Motor, honda 1100, motorcycle engine

Hi Bill - I'm wondering if you know much about the 1100 motor by Honda.  I'm looking at a 2002 1100 Spirit, but it has 32000 miles on it.  The good news is that the owner was CRAZY meticulous about maintenance and had all the work (even oil changes) done at the dealer and has all the receipts.  They are nearly all highway miles from long tours he did.  It's a good buy on the bike, but I don't know the life expectancy of an 1100 motorcycle engine and don't want to buy it if I'm looking at ringing it in 5000 miles. Help!  Thanks so much!

As far as I know these motors will easily do 100,000 miles with consistent oil changes and regular scheduled maintenance. I had a 93 VT1100 with 38,000 and it ran like new, this being about 2 years ago. Sounds like it is a sweet deal to me, if you really like that type of ride.
