Motorcycle Repair: front brake switch, sportster 883, southside johnny

Question
The bike was recently in an accident minor damage .the front brake lever hit another bike as it was falling after being hit.At first the turn signal didn't work (works now) put new brake lever on,now brake light stays on even after I take lever completly off bike.should I look to change the switch or look somewhere else.
1993 Sportster 883.

there is a brake lite switch in the brake perch that holds the brake lever. if it is not installed correctly it will keep the brake lite on, also the purch housing need to be push up tight against the switch housing. this will also keep the brake lite on!!!   Southside Johnny
