Motorcycle Repair: 1986 Harley Davidson Low Rider, crank case vent, vent tube

Question
I noticed at the end of last years riding season a light film of oil on my exhaust pipes just below the air cover.  Today I just cranked it up for the first time and it started right up.  Then oil started dripping heavily out of the air cleaner and is coming out of the Crankcase vent.  What would cause this?

Answer
the check ball in the oil pump is not seated. and when the bike sat, it let oil pass the check ball and filled the crank case with motor oil. when the bike was started it pumped the oil out the crankcase vent and up into the air cleaner where harley puts the crank case vent tube. I never vent to the air filter, but harley is a no it all
