Motorcycle Repair: Honda CM400T, honda cm400t, engine oil filter

Question
Last fall I bought a 1980 CM400T that I disassembled this winter and am now finished all the "cosmetic" work.  The engine seemed to be running ok when I test drove it last fall and I don't want to get into a major rebuild but I'm wondering if there are some things I should be doing before I remount it.  Or should I just stick to "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."?

Answer
Hi Serge,

No need to tear into the engine if it's not necessary.

Providing the gasoline was drained from the carburetor, there shouldn't be any problems. Start with fresh gas in the tank and new engine oil & filter. If you run into any problems, advise. I'll gladly help ya.
