Ford Repair: 2002 Ford Explorer, 4x4 high, ford explorer 4x4, transmition

Question
I just had my transmition replaced, and noticed the 4x4 high light comes on and off.  It also rides ruff when going slow, making a complete circle, tuggs..

I was told this was do to a sensor for the 4x4, causing the car to try to shift into 4x4 high.  They are going to change out the sensor and it's supposed to fix the problem.

Is this true?  I was thinking they might have connected something wrong, as the light never came on before the new transmition was installed.

Let me know.

Thanks,

David

Answer
Hopefully the shop checked for codes, and that is why they are replacing a sensor. Without knowing the code or codes I can't tell you much else. Seems kinda strange that this never came up until they worked on the trans. The transfer case has to removed to get to the trans, it's entirely possible that a wire was broken or pinched or something else. Hard to prove, tho, that they may have caused this concern.
