Motorcycle Repair: Bike Wont start, gsxr750, spark plug

Question
I have a 2002 GSXR750, and it has been running perfect since i got it a few months ago.  I started it up yesterday, rode it for a minute, got off to talk to someone for a minute, and when i came back, the bike wouldnt start.  Ive checked all connections, fuses, the battery seems O.K. since all the lights work.  Im thinking its the spark plug, but dont want to take everything apart just yet.  What do you think?  Thanks for your help, Jim.

Answer
Hi Jim.
Double-check the fuses and the fuse connections, then check the ignition switch.  Just because you have lights, doesn't mean that power is getting to the ignition system.  A bad ignition switch can provide power and still not provide it to the ignition system.  Also, replace the ignition fuse and see what happens.  A fuse can look good and not actually be good.  You also want to check the ignition coils and see if they may have decided to go bad on you.  It is extremely rare, but it can happen.

Start with those and see what you find.
Good luck.
