Put my bike (Yamaha Virago750 2001) away for winter in perfectly working conditions. Covered it according to the manual but it was kept outside all winter. Now i started it but noticed gas leaking from under the right side of the air filter. I took off air filter and noticed that it's leaking from one ruber tube that goes ...nowhere. It's very short rubber tube that has some sort of a filter before it. I tried to blow into that tube and it sounds that it goes back to the gas tank. I made bike work for 5 min and collected gas from that tube into the can. I hoped that problem will go away somehow :).
Exost is wite but too thick.
Please advise.

Thank you.

Hi Boris.
It sounds like one of the floats is sticking in the carbs or you have a seal that has failed to degrade gracefully.

Check the carbs out and look for those things.

Let me know what you find.
Good luck.

You were right about the carb. I took it off cleaned, put it pack and now there is no gas leaking from anywhere...BUT :( ...it smokes...

I read on the internet about "Gumout" so i bought it and put it in the gas tank (according to the manual on it). Bike starts very good and working with the chocke very good but when it heats up and i pull the chocke back to normal position, bike begins to smoke... It wite thick smoke. Again, bike was working perfectly before the winter.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

thank you.

Answer
Hi Boris.
Thick white smoke is usually an indication that you are burning off some oil.  You may want to double-check your valve timing and gap settings.  Also, check the state of the air filter.  If it is clogged, then it could be causing the engine to run a bit rich, which could also be the problem.

Start with those and let me know what you find on it.
Good luck.
