Motorcycle Repair: No ignition on a 2001 Indian Scout, indian scout, key switch

Question
I replaced the starter and starter relay. Jump started the bike from my truck and it would not start. Checked for spark and there was no spark. There is no voltage going to the coil. Replaced the kill switch and this did not fix the problem. When I jumped the bike I connected the cables directly to the bikes cables. The battery was removed.

Answer
What you need to do is follow the hot wire to the problem.
You will need a 12 volt test light. Start by checking at the key switch to see if you have a wire that is hot. If not, then trace the wire back to the battery to find the problem. If you do the you need to turn on the key switch and see if you have power going away from the key switch. Keep following the wire until you find no power. At the kill switch, when it is on, there should be power on both sides. Follow the ato the coil. There should be power at he coil terminal. Disconnect the ignition wire from the coil and with the power on you should have power on both sides of the coil.
After tracing all this out and it all tests ok let me know.
Good luck and happy riding
