Motorcycle Repair: my 1987 klr 650 is shaking/vibrating, klr 650, engine mounts

Hi, My klr 650 has suddenly started to shake/vibrate. It does this when idleing and while riding. Any idea what may be causing this? I know there must be something up with the engine. Thanks for your help.

Jeff,
 There could be any host of problems that would make you experience such strong vibration.  There could be something seriously wrong with the engine or something as simple as incorrect timing or poor carburator adjustment.  It's just about impossible for me to even hazard a guess however, I would have you make sure that none of the engine mounts have broken causing the engine to move move than normal.  A broken mount could lead to excessive engine movement and possible direct contact with the frame transmitting the vibration to you.
