Motorcycle Repair: Handlebars, electrical wires, handlebars

My buddy just bought after market handlebars and he wants me to help him run the electrical wires down through the bars. He has a '98 Dyna. How difficult is this, and can you give me any suggestions?

Its not really that hard. First find where the wires come out of the handlebar controls. Mark the spot on the handlebar on both sides. Now remove the handlebars and drill a hole for the wires. Now go to the bottom of the bars and drill two holes side by side and cut the metal between them. You will have to unplug the wires from the connections. Now feed the wires through. replug the wires into the connections. Makes sure when you unplug them you mark where they go.
