Motorcycle Repair: 1987 kawi ninj zx750, odd configuration, salvage yard

hey again falcon cant get that stator rebuilt they said its an odd configuration so have to get whole new thing they want 900 for part but found part at a salvage yard the whole piece is 100 so should i try it or could this whole problem be a fuse or short cause my bike has seperate fan i have to turn on with switch it used to shut off when i took key out now it keeps running unless i turn it off so dont know what to do dont want to realy put in shop round here cause remember what i told u bout i put it in to get brakes done got it back th=ey didnt work so any suggestions u might have shoot away thanks a lot for your time and help

Hi Joe.
 If the used stator is off of a wreck, then it should be ok. as long as the engine was intact and under 50k mi.

As far as the fan is concerned, it should stop when you turn the key off, however some do not.  Some run till the fan has completed it cooling off cycle, key off or not.

Get your manual out and check the wiring diagram and details about the fan circuit.  You may have developed a short in that circuit.
