Motorcycle Repair: 1982 cb750k, head pipes, metal clamps

Question
I have an 82 cb 750k and am changing the mufflers from the 4-4 stock system to a 4-2 system with mac 4-2 slip-ons. what is the best way to do this? should i cut the head pipes and put the new mufflers on then? is there any adhesive i need to fasten the new pipes?  what special tools will i need to do the job?  should i take the whole exhaust system off the bike to work on it or can i just put the bike on the centerstand?  thanks.

Answer
Hi Spencer,

You'll get detailed instructions with the product packaging.

There is no adhesives used. Usually metal clamps hold pipes together.

I cannot explain the entire process to you. Too involved and I cannot cover everything you may encounter. It's fairly easy to assemble. Just lay the pipes out and follow directions. You should receive everything needed with the exception of muffler or header pipe gaskets.

Contact Mac fo installation instructions if necessary. Contact me with future mechanical needs as needed. Enjoy riding and repairing your MC. :)
