Motorcycle Repair: Oil light -->> 2001 Kawasaki Ninja EX500R, kawasaki ninja, kawasaki model

Question
I have a 2001 Kawasaki Ninja EX500R and after a recent minor lay down on the right hand side my oil indicator light stays on while the bike is running.  Until I know how serious the problem is I have not been running it in this condition as to avoid any further damage.  Any ideas or recommendations would be awesome!
Thanks in advance,

Answer
Hi Bill,

I think the oil sensor (pressure switch) lead may have been damaged or came loose. The sensor itself may be defective. The part is located on the oil pan. Cut and paste this link to see the part:

It could be another problem, but I suspect it is related to the above. Look into it and advise. I'll be available to assist. Use me email so you don't get the "Maxed Out" message: mshively1@woh.rr.com
