Motorcycle Repair: honda electricial, honda 750, honda model

Question
Hello Mark. We have a 1982 honda 750 sport that doesnt charge. Battery decent while charged on charger. Wires rotor, fields and rectifer look not burnt or damaged. What is the most common repair. Thanks Doug Bolen

Answer
Hi Doug,

You have to put the components to the VOM meter to verify if working properly.

The most common repair is varnished carburetors. :) The answer I think you're looking for is electrical, and that answer is stator brushes worn beyond useful limits.

Visit the following link to see your MC's altenator:

With the information given, I suspect the altenator's brushes are causing the non-charging state. Could be something else.
