Motorcycle Repair: 89 evo base gasket leak, gasket leaks, gasket surfaces

Question
I have an 1989 FLHS 1340CC EVO. I just had the cylinders bored .010 over and installed wiseco 10:1 pistons. Heads where in good shape cylinders as well. I cleaned all gasket surfaces and wiped them down with alcohol to remove all residue. used James gaskets metal w/bead. Toqured everthing to specs supplied with gasket kit. Sequential to 45 ft lbs. Started bike let it warm up good, checked for leaks everthing tight. Let it set for three or four hours to cool. Reran to temp same thing no leaks. Killed it let sit over night until next evening  took out for short ride about twelve miles came back and it was leaking from the right front corner of the base gasket. I cleaned it off and let it cool down again ovrnight hoping it just needed to get hot to seal. I checked the rear cylinder no problems, checked the lifter blocks no problems. I have used James in past no problems EVO and Shovel this is the first time I have experienced this problem. I really don't have the time to pull rockers and retorque right now. (due to upcoming move)Any advice? Thanks Dennis

Answer
Once you hae the proper torque on the heads you cant go back and retorque. I have used James for years without any problems, but there are times that a gasket leaks. The only thing you can do is remove the cylinder and install another gasket, or it will keep leaking
Good luck and happy riding
