Motorcycle Repair: 2000 Honda Rebel CMX250, vent tubes, honda rebel

My 2000 Honda Rebel CMX250 stalls out during riding, I can open the gas cap and it will start back up with no problems. I have replaced the gas cap but this has done no good. It acts like the gas tank is getting vapor locked? My e-mail is bltray@msn.com

Hi Brian,

Check the carburetor atmospheric vents and vent tubes for obstructions. Visit the following site, look at part numers 29 & 30. These tubes should be clear.

Also check the fuel tank breather tube. It too should be unobstructed. See part number 5:
