Motorcycle Repair: BMW motorcycle, vacuum leaks, bmw motorcycle

Question
I cannot get my '77 R100S to run.  Here's the deal- I've got it staticly timed correctly, the spark is impressive at the plug, not just the wire.  Both carbs have been gone through and are free of trash.  The air cleaner is not clogged and there are no vacuum leaks.  The throttle and choke settings are correct.  I had it running after installing a new ignition system, and as I was tuning the carbs, it graduallly quit running and then wouldn't start.  The electrics checked good so I went through the carbs and removed some trash and gave them a thorough cleaning.  Nothing is working, and I am at my wits end.  This thing won't even spit or sputter.  No almost fires or anything.  I know that it is getting gas into the cyclindewr as I can smell it in the exhaust - it's just not firing.  Compression? Also good.  Valves are not stuck.  What could possibly be wrong?  The idle jets are clear and appear to be working on the bench.  Please help, before I go buy a new one.  Thanks a million,
Adam

Answer
Hi Adam,

What exactly was done with the carbs (tuning)?

Are the spark plugs fouling?

Try and redo any changes made until you get her running. Making too many adjustments can be frustrating because it's difficult to what caused the problem.
