Motorcycle Repair: I need my baby back on the road!, kawasaki zrx, fuel residue

Question
Hi Falcon.
I own a Kawasaki ZRX 400 '94' model, and yes I did say ZRX, its an import. The problem is that I have been off the road for 2 years due to personal problems and my poor babe has been in the garage for this time, and has not turned a wheel! I was told years ago of a place that could get import manuals in English but cannot seem to find anything more about it! I have someone prepared to help and cosmetically my babe is still fantastic but as you will know I will have to change oil, fuel, tyres etc. a complete overhale I expect.
My bike has always been very important in my life and I am really annoyed that I let other things take over. Any help would be fantastic.
Sorry for the spelling and going on!
Thanks
Elle

Answer
Hi Elle.
As someone who has owned nothing but bikes for almost all of the past 23 years, I can understand completely.

One thing that you'll need to do is to re-seal the tank (it will keep the old fuel residue out of the freshly cleaned carbs and brand the new fuel lines that you will need to install.

As far as the manuals and such, you should look on Yahoo!Groups.  There should be at least one group there that deals with your bike, or atleast, Kawasakis that could help you find what you need as far as info on the bike.  I know that i've seen groups for bikes that I've never even heard of, so it should be there for you.

You could look to;  www.repairmanuals.com  for the manual for your bike as well as other related books.

Hope that has helped some.
Good luck.
