Motorcycle Repair: spark...lack of, yamaha 500cc, switch connections

hey mate,i;ve got a 79xt yamaha 500cc with no spark at the pionts.i have a new coil,condensor,and battree.i got blinkers.horn and brake lights all work.fuel ok jets cleaned.i could roll start it a while ago but not now.? hope to here from ya ...bob

Hi Bob.
 The answer to your problem is most likely to be so simple that you will kick yourself when you hear it.

Check for, a blown ignition fuse, shorts in the wires that run power to the coils and bad connections in the ignition circuit between power and condensor.  Trace them back all the way to the power source, including the power switch connections and contact.

You will find the problem there.  My money is on a shorted wire or corroded connection.
