Motorcycle Repair: 1981 honda, cb750, best bet

hello my son needs to know how to get the head off his bike and can you enter change a 750 to a 900 he is redoing his bike for more speed his is a 1981 honda a older bike and he wants to modify it to make it daster can u send info on this thanks so much

Hi Barbara.
 If your son wants more speed, then his best bet is to take it to a shop that specialises in those kind of modifications.  I don't believe that a CB900 head can be installed onto a CB750, but I am not certain.  If the heads fit and all of the mounting holes and oil ports match up EXACTLY, then it should work, but it will require other changes to the engine that I am not certain of.  Either way, he's looking at a huge job.  He might be better off looking around for a used 900 to get instead.  It may end up costing a lot less in the end.
