Motorcycle Repair: oil, high performance engines, motorcycle oils

Question
Should I use an oil that is suppose to be specially made for motorcycle engines or is this not needed? I have a 1980 honda 900 custom by the way--Thanks for any help

Answer
Hi Bill.
You should use motorcycle oil in your motorcycle.  Oils made specifically for motorcycles are formulated for that type of higher performance engine than you will find in a car.

Now you could use automotive oil in the bike, but I would use only the best that you can find which has been formulated for high performance engines.

Good luck.
