Motorcycle Repair: 1986 yamaha radian ignition, air fuel mixture, whas

Question
i whas wondering how the ignition in a 86 yamaha is wired? mine has got good compresion but i cant get it to fire?

Answer
Hi Ben,

Easier asked than explained. You'll have to obtain a wiring diagram and "see" for yourself. A service manual will have a diagram. There are many wires involved with just the ignition switch. Cannot answer such questions.

FYI:

An engine needs three things to run:
1.) Adequate compression
2.) A spark at the right time
3.) Correct air-fuel mixture

Removing any of the above elements and the engine will not start or run.
