Motorcycle Repair: possible oil contamination, oil contamination, fresh oil

Question
i have a 2001 kawi kl250g super sherpa 4 stroke i use for commuting and am pulling her out of hibernation and noticed a milky look to the oil through the sight glass.  i change the oil and filter every year and check it before every ride.  what's the best way to get all the contamination out?  do i have to split the case or can i perhaps flush it with fresh oil?  any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  rick

Answer
If you check my profile I only work on  harleys, but I should be able to help you. Go ahead and change the oil and filter. Start and run the bike until it gets up to operating temp. Shut the bike off and change the oil and filter. Start and run the bike again until its up to operating temp and change the oil and filter again. You now should be good to go.
Good luck and happy riding
