Motorcycle Repair: valve clearence check & adjustment, extended warranty, falcon

Chris,  I have 99 honda vfr800 it has 21000 miles and runs beautiful. I always change the oil every 3000 miles , its always maintained. I don't know if I  should have the values checked or just leave it alone. I don't feel that the job would be done properly in some of the dealers I have been to. Do you think I should just leave it alone. Or look for another shop?                 Thanks, Ralph

 As far as getting the valves taken care of, Yes you should as often as the manual recommends.

As far as the shop to do it in, I suggest that, as long as the bike is not covered under some kind of extended warranty, then go shop around.  Talk to other guys and see who they recommend.  Then check out the shops themselves.  See where you want to take your bike and where you feel comfortable taking it.

That's where you should take it.
