Motorcycle Repair: piston clearance, honda ct 70, stroke motor

Hi Mark,
I am restoring a couple of older Honda ct-70S
i need to know when going oversize with a new piston, what kind of clearance is needed for the piston to the cly bore ? somebody told me .002 thousands is that right for a honda ct-70 4 stroke
motor.

Hi Shannon,

.002" is common for many MC's. Allows plenty of room for piston expansion. The exact spec I couln't find. Visit this website for CT70 parts: www.hondaminitrail.com/ct70.html

BTW... Hope your city enjoys the new police chief, Wm. McManus. We are glad to give him to you. You should see the t-shirts one of our officers made about him. It has a tire print on the back with text, "Can we shoot now." reference his use of force policy changes when someone is attempting to run you over with their car.
